Abstract

Introduction : Diabetes mellitus is a decrease in the ability of cells to receive insulin called insulin resistance. Based on IDF, Indonesia is still ranked as the 6th most diabetes mellitus sufferer in the world in 2017. The study aims to study and understand in depth about nursing care of patients with type II Diabetes Mellitus in Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital Method : This study used a case study method with the Nursing Care approach by taking a sample of 2 respondents who were treated in the Flamboyant Room of the Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital. Data collection uses the format of Nursing Care which includes Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Implementation, Nursing Evaluation. Results and Discussion : Based on the analysis of data obtained conclusions the study requires effective communication skills and observations, nursing diagnoses tailored to the client's condition and obtained a diagnosis of instability in blood glucose levels, risk of nutritional deficits, acute pain, impaired tissue integrity, hyperthermia, risk of infection, anxiety, self-care deficit and noncompliance. Planning and implementation are supported by supporting facilities and facilities, evaluation is carried out directly both formatively and summatively. Conclusion : In patient I there were 2 unresolved problems, namely instability of blood glucose levels and impaired tissue integrity and 3 other problems resolved such as the risk of nutritional deficits, risk of infection and anxiety. Whereas in patients II there are also 2 unresolved problems, namely instability of blood glucose levels and impaired tissue integrity and 4 other problems resolved such as hypertermia, anxiety, self-care deficits and non-compliance Suggestion : It is expected that in the future for health workers to improve nursing skills in providing nursing care primarily provide health education about the management of diabetes mellitus to improve quality of life in patients with type II diabetes mellitus Keywords: Nursing care, Type II diabetes mellitus.
